Expo Jobs

Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 July 2026

1. Who we are

Expo Jobs is an independent job board for roles connected to the World Expos. It is operated by MERTEL RG ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA, s.r.o., IČO 26763567, DIČ CZ26763567, with its registered seat at Holečkova 777/39, 150 00 Praha, Czech Republic, registered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague (Městský soud v Praze), section C, insert 92080.

Contact: support@jobs-worldexpo.com

In these terms, "we", "us" and "Expo Jobs" mean that company. "You" means anyone using the site.

2. What Expo Jobs is — and what it is not

Expo Jobs is a place to find and advertise jobs. That is all it is.

We are not affiliated with the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), any Expo organiser, any pavilion, or any national participant. We are not endorsed by any of them. Where we use an organisation's name, we do so only to identify whose job a listing is.

We are not a recruitment agency and not an employer. We do not screen, rank, score, assess or recommend candidates. We take no part in hiring decisions and we are not a party to any employment relationship, contract or negotiation that results from the site.

We do not guarantee outcomes. We do not promise that a listing is current, that a vacancy still exists, that an employer will read your application, or that anyone will reply to you.

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

3. Two kinds of listing

Listings on Expo Jobs come from one of two places, and every listing says which:

Employer listings are submitted by the employer, or by someone authorised to act for them, through an Expo Jobs account. Applications can be submitted through the site.

Compiled listings are prepared by Expo Jobs from an employer's own public job posting, so that candidates can find Expo roles in one place. The employer has not necessarily agreed to be listed and may not know the listing exists. Compiled listings link to the employer's original posting, and applications are not accepted through Expo Jobs — you apply on the employer's own site.

A compiled listing carries no suggestion that the employer endorses, is associated with, or has any relationship with Expo Jobs.

If you are an employer and you want a compiled listing removed, email support@jobs-worldexpo.com and we will remove it promptly. We will not ask you for a reason.

An employer may instead claim a compiled listing (section 6), which converts it into an employer listing.

4. Using the site as a job seeker

You may browse without an account. You will need to give us information to apply for a role, create an account, or ask to be notified about a listing.

When you apply through Expo Jobs, we store your application and transmit it to the employer for that listing. What that employer then does with it is their decision and their responsibility — see our Privacy Policy.

What you give us must be your own. Do not submit anyone else's CV or personal details, and do not misrepresent your identity, qualifications or right to work.

Be careful about what is in your CV. A CV often carries more than work history. Include only what you are comfortable sharing with the employer you are applying to.

A warning about job scams. A legitimate employer will not ask you to pay a fee to apply, to be interviewed, or to be hired, and will not ask for bank details, identity documents or payments early in a hiring process. If a listing on Expo Jobs leads to any such request, stop and tell us at support@jobs-worldexpo.com. Charging job seekers is prohibited under section 8.

You may close your account at any time.

5. Using the site as an employer

To post a listing you need an employer account. By creating one and by posting, you warrant that:

(a) you are authorised to act on behalf of the employer you name, and to advertise the roles you post;

(b) every vacancy you advertise is genuine, currently open, and accurately described, including its location, contract type and any stated conditions;

(c) your listings comply with all applicable law, including the employment, equal-treatment and advertising rules of the country where the role is based — for roles in Serbia this includes Articles 18 to 23 of the Serbian Labour Law, which prohibit discriminatory job advertisements;

(d) you have a lawful basis to receive and process the personal data of candidates who apply, and you will handle it in accordance with the GDPR and any other applicable data protection law;

(e) you will respond to candidates' data protection requests concerning the copy of their data that you hold.

You are responsible for the content of your listings. We do not verify the accuracy of what you post.

Data protection between us. Once we transmit an application to you, you and Expo Jobs are each an independent controller of your own copy of that data. Neither of us acts as the other's processor. Each of us is responsible for our own compliance.

Candidate data may only be used for the role applied for. You must not use it to market to candidates, to build a talent pool for other purposes, to share with third parties, or for anything other than considering that person for the role they applied to — unless the candidate separately agrees.

6. Claiming a compiled listing

If a compiled listing belongs to your organisation, you may claim it. Claiming happens in two stages, and access to candidate data is deliberately separated from access to listing management:

Stage one — listing management. You verify control of an email address on the employer's own domain. This lets you edit, update, close or remove the listings. It does not give you access to any candidate's personal data.

Stage two — candidate data. Before any applicant's name, contact details, message or CV becomes visible to you, we carry out additional verification, which may include a check against the relevant company register, confirmation of a named authorised individual and their role, and confirmation of the warranty in section 5(a). Until stage two is complete you will see application counts only.

We may refuse or revoke a claim if we are not satisfied that the person claiming is authorised. Where two parties both claim a listing — for example a delivery partner and the pavilion it works for — the listing belongs to the entity named as the hiring employer in the original posting, unless those parties agree otherwise between themselves and tell us.

Requesting access through the site's request form grants nothing on its own. Every request is verified by hand.

7. Your account

Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly at support@jobs-worldexpo.com if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Do not share an account, sell one, or let anyone else use yours.

8. What you may not post or do

You may not use Expo Jobs to post, submit or transmit anything that:

  • advertises a role that does not exist, or misdescribes one;
  • applies or implies a criterion based on sex, gender identity, race, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation, marital or family status, trade union membership, political opinion, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law — except where a genuine and lawful occupational requirement applies and is stated;
  • charges, or seeks to charge, a job seeker any fee to apply, interview, train or be hired;
  • solicits payments, bank details or identity documents from candidates in the course of an application;
  • promotes a pyramid or multi-level marketing scheme, or an arrangement requiring the candidate to buy goods or services;
  • infringes anyone's intellectual property, confidentiality or privacy;
  • contains anyone's personal data without a lawful basis for including it;
  • is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, obscene, or promotes violence or discrimination;
  • contains malware, or is designed to interfere with the site's operation or security.

You also may not scrape or bulk-extract data from the site by automated means, attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, probe or test our security without written permission, or use the site to send unsolicited marketing.

9. Reporting illegal content

Anyone can report content on Expo Jobs that they believe is illegal, using the form at /report or by email to support@jobs-worldexpo.com. This mechanism is provided under Article 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (the Digital Services Act).

Please tell us: which listing or content you mean, including its URL; why you believe it is illegal; your name and email address (not required for reports concerning certain offences); and a statement that your report is made in good faith and is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

We will confirm receipt, review the report without undue delay, and tell you what we decided and why. If you are affected by a decision we take, we will give you a statement of reasons and tell you how to contest it, as required by Article 17.

Points of contact under the Digital Services Act. For recipients of the service (Art. 12) and for Member State authorities, the Commission and the Board (Art. 11): support@jobs-worldexpo.com. Communications may be in Czech or English.

10. Moderation, suspension and removal

We may remove a listing or other content, or suspend or close an account, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, where content is illegal, where a listing appears fraudulent or misleading, or where we are legally required to.

Where we do, we will tell the affected user and give reasons, unless we are legally prevented from doing so or the content is manifestly illegal high-volume spam. If you think we got it wrong, reply to our notice and a person will review it. This does not affect your right to go to court or to use any out-of-court dispute settlement body available to you.

We may also remove a compiled listing at any time, including at the employer's request or on our own initiative.

11. Fees

Expo Jobs is currently free for both job seekers and employers.

We may introduce charges for some employer features in future. If we do, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email to registered employers and on the site, and any listing that is already live when the change takes effect will run to its close without charge. Expo Jobs will never charge job seekers.

12. Intellectual property and liability

Our content. The site, its design, and the compiled listing text we write are ours or licensed to us. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without permission. Referring to an employer's name to identify their job is not a claim to their trade marks.

Your content. You keep ownership of what you post. By posting a listing you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, translate and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the job board. The licence ends when the listing is removed, except for backup copies, which are deleted within 90 days.

Employer indemnity. This paragraph applies only to employers acting in the course of business. It does not apply to consumers. If a claim is brought against us because your listing breached these terms — including because you were not authorised to post it, or it was unlawful or discriminatory — you will cover our reasonable losses and legal costs.

What we are not liable for. Subject to the paragraphs below, we are not liable for the conduct of employers or job seekers, for hiring decisions or their consequences, for the accuracy of listings or applications, for a job that turns out not to exist, or for loss of an opportunity, earnings, profit or data.

What we never exclude. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for harm to life or health, for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited in advance under Czech law, in particular section 2898 of the Civil Code.

If you are a consumer. We do not cap our liability to you. Our liability is limited only so far as Czech law allows, and nothing in these terms affects your mandatory statutory rights.

If you are a business user. Because the service is free, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with your use of the site is limited in aggregate to EUR 1,000.

Data protection claims are unaffected. Nothing in this section limits any right you have to compensation under Article 82 of the GDPR, or under any other data protection law that applies to you. Those rights are statutory and cannot be limited by contract.

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top always shows the current version.

For material changes we will give at least 15 days' notice by email to registered users, or 30 days' notice to employers where the change affects a paid feature. If you do not accept a change, you may close your account before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site afterwards means you accept the change.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic.

If you are a business user, the courts of Prague have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the site.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU. Under Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 (Rome I), you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you habitually live, and the choice of Czech law above cannot take those away. Under Article 18 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (Brussels I recast), you may bring proceedings against us either in the Czech courts or in the courts of the country where you live — and we may bring proceedings against you only in the courts of the country where you live.

If you are a consumer resident outside the EU, including in Serbia. The mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live may apply to you regardless of this section, and we do not seek to exclude them. You may also be entitled under your own law to bring proceedings in your local courts, and nothing in these terms is intended to prevent that. A consumer resident in Serbia, for example, keeps their rights under Serbian consumer protection law.

Out-of-court dispute resolution. Consumers in the Czech Republic may contact the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, coi.cz). Consumers elsewhere in the EU may contact the equivalent body in their own country. Using such a body is optional and does not affect your right to go to court.

Language. These terms are published in English, which is the authoritative version. If we publish a translation and the two differ, the English version prevails, except where the mandatory law of the country where you live requires otherwise.

15. Other

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

Our not enforcing something straight away does not mean we have given it up.

You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours if the business is sold, provided your rights are not reduced.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about your use of the site.
